Welcome to our first fat burner review! Today we’re going to be reviewing Lipo 6, by Nutrex. Lipo 6 is one of the most (if not the most) popular fat burning products on the market. The formula has recently be changed after ephedra was banned by the FDA.
In this review we’re going to take a look at what’s in the new formula Lipo 6 and whether it can help burn more fat.
Lipo-6 Fat Burner Review:
This is a positive review of Lipo 6. Before I get started, I want to say that this product is not magic bullet to weight loss. Here at this site we don’t believe in quick fixes, or miracle supplements. A good diet and exercise plan, suited to your goals, if what you need to reach your goals. Supplements like Lipo 6 should be combined with your good diet and exercises plan to help you burn fat faster.
The active ingredients of Lipo 6:
- Synephrine (citrus aurantium extract): synephrine is the chemical “cousin” to ephedra, which is particularly effective for weight loss. There is some evidence showing positive effects, but that was when it was combined with caffeine and St. John’s Wort.
- Caffeine: a mild thermogenic (fat burner) that also promotes mental alertness, caffeine works best when combined with ephedra or, as more recently shown, green tea. Of course, there’s no ephedra in the new of Lipo 6 formula. However, preliminary studies indicate it may work synergistically with synephrine to increase its fat burning effect.
- Guggulsterones: the standardized extract of a resin of a tree native to India. This resin has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries. A study published in The Journal of Associations of Physicians in India in 1989 showed this substance to have a powerful effect in decreasing blood fats (called triglycerides) AND LDL cholesterol (that’s the “bad” cholesterol), while elevating levels of the good cholesterol “HDL.” Guggulsterones may also stimulate the thyroid gland. This may result in a positive effect upon the body’s main thyroid hormones, T3 and T4.
- Coleus Forskohlii: traditionally to treat asthma, overweight, hypothyroidism, and high blood pressure. It has also been shown to help prevent the formation of blood clots by preventing platelet aggregation.May also have a positive effect on increasing cyclic AMP (a cell regulating compound) in the body. Increased levels of cAMP can raise thyroid hormone levels and spur further weight loss.
- Bioperine: the patented extract of the black pepper and long pepper berries harvested in India. Bioperine’s value is that it has been established to enhance the bioavailibility of certain supplements through increased absorption. In other words, when combined with Bioperine, numerous vitamins, minerals, amino acids and anti oxidants are more efficiently absorbed and utilized in the body.
- Yohimbe: The standardized extract of the bark of the African Yohimbe tree. It is also sold as a drug used to treat impotency, dilate the pupil of the eye, and stimulate fat loss. Because it can cause unpredictable effects on blood pressure, Yohimbe should be approached with caution.
What to make of that ingredient list?
The ingredients that are listed above typical of many fat burning products. Research does show that these ingredients combined may help with burning more fat when combined with the correct diet and exercise plan.
User reviews.
Before writing this review I spent many hours online researching opinions on Lipo 6. Generally the opinion is that Lipo 6 does work, but it doesn’t work alone. As I said at the start of this review, Lipo 6 is no magic bullet solution to weight loss. It will work best when combined with diet and exercise.
Most reviews I read were of obese or overweight people using Lipo 6 for weight loss. However, another common use I found was bodybuilders (male and female) using Lipo 6 to help reach the very low fat percentages required for competition. Generally reviews were positive here too with the major complaint being about loss of sleep from the caffeine. But further investigation found that a lot of these cases were using Lipo 6 at night, which I wouldn’t advise doing.
The bottom line.
I am skeptical of fat burners in general. This is not because the product doesn’t work, it’s that it’s marketed as “quick solution”. All the positive reviews I read about Lipo 6 had one thing in common, the user had a strict diet and exercise plan in place.
I’m going to drill this home, Lipo 6 is a good product, it can help you burn more fat, but you have to be prepared to put some time and effort into a good diet and exercise plan too. Good luck burning the fat!

I started using the 6x about a week ago. I have just cut 30 lbs in 3 weeks naturally by working hard in the gym. But I have never been able to get the abs/definition that I want and I believe that it is due to genetics. Within a week, continuing the same 6 day a week intense workout I have already seen definition in my Abs. I have not weighed myseld because I am drinking protein shakes also. No side effects on me at all, I did crash real hard once but I live a busy lifestyle and do not have time for rest so I was bound to crash. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!!!
Lipo-6 was definitely better before the ephedra ban was in force. The new formula is not as effective, but still helps.
It is important to add some health supplements in your diet so that you get whole nourishment.
Don’t rely solely on this product for weight loss. Yes, I have tried lipo-6 and it’s does work! BUT only if you change your diet, cut calories and exercise!!! I was ready to give up when I tried this first, but on my second go I started walking daily for 30mins and reducing my portion size and the effects have been excellent!
