Today I’m reviewing MET-RX’s pure creatine powder. I have been trialling MET-RX’s pure creatine monohydrate for 8 weeks now and am going to share some of my thoughts on it.
It’s often hard to review creatine monohydrate powders, because the products are really similar to each other. I have used 4 different creatine monohydrate powders over the past 12 months and have had great results from all of them. So what sets them apart?
MET-RX creatine vs. other creatine products:
Price: obviously, the first thing that sets them apart is the price. There’s no reason why any 100% pure creatine monohydrate product should be expensive unless it has other ingredients mixed in with it. For example, simple carbohydrates and stimulants may be mixed with creatine monohydrate to increase the uptake.
So how does MET-RX’s pure creatine monohydrate stack up on price? Well, when I purchased it, it was in the top three cheapest creatine products in the store! Like I said, when it comes to pure creatine monohydrate products there’s no reason why they should be expensive.
How it mixes: how the creatine mixes with various liquids can make or break a product. I have tried creatine products over the years that would not mix with anything, not even a post workout shake! All I’d end up with is a large clump of powder at the bottom of the shake when I’d finished!
On the other hand, if the creatine is not ground down fine enough, it’s like drinking drinking a cup of sand and water! When you buy a creatine monohydrate product, make sure it’s micronized.
MET-RX’s pure creatine mixed well, in fact it’s probably the best mixing product out of all the creatine monohydrate products I’ve used. It’s texture is different, it’s more like “crystals” rather than a powder. I took it with grape juice and my post workout shake (whey, carbs, glutamine).
Purity: this isn’t a problem with most products, but it is something you have to look out for. You should always buy pure creatine monohydrate. Some creatine monohydrate products can only be 90% pure, and then remaining 10% is fillers.
I only buy pure, so MET-RX’s is pure (as it states in the name!) creatine monohydrate.
Conclusion:
When it comes to pure creatine monohydrate products there’s a pretty level playing field, and many products are similar (despite what the manufacturers will tell you!). So a lot of it is down to price and personal preference.
I definitely recommend MET-RX’s pure creatine powder, and will definitely be using it again myself in future.

I’ve used MET-RX for years…like most of their gear. Their creatine powder is one of the cheapest here in the UK, superb value for money
